Sorry, Sculpt is over
But...  there is one artwork still in place.....

Every Small Difference by Sarah Williams is still on show in North Stainley Church, just four miles north of Ripon.
Sarah's work is incredible not just for it's creativity and execution, but also for how she has communicated the most pressing issue of our times, our responsibility to take care of our fragile planet through every small thing we do.
Make time to come and experience this amazing and poignant work.

Sculpt is a New Kind of Art Experience

We have commissioned seven of the world's most interesting and inspiring artists to create a new sculpture especially for each of the seven churches on our trail.

The brief is simply 'a response to space' and our artists have been asked to deliver drama, to work on a large scale and to install captivating sculptures that everyone can understand. Get ready to expect the unexpected.

Follow the route map to travel between venues. Off-the-beaten track, you will discover long views across the Vale of York, winding roads through rolling countryside and the rugged landscape of Swinton Park.

Visit historic churches, from the intimate chapel in Snape Castle where Catherine Parr grew up (6th wife of Henry VIII) to early medieval churches with the tombs of crusaders.

NAVIGATING
NAVIGATING
Pick up your FREE route map, which will be available in all of the churches . The map above gives you postcodes for your sat-nav to get started

There will be a banner outside each church so you will know you are at the right place.

OPENING
The churches are open every day from 9am to 5pm. Please note that there may be services on when you visit, your patience is appreciated.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE
The route is 26 miles long, so perfect for marathon runners.
For the rest of us, a cycle ride or a drive. Start from any church on the trail. If cycling, the route is hilly around Healey in particular.
It will take about an hour to drive around the whole route, plus how long you decide to spend at each church.

INFORMATION
There is an information stand in each church which tells you about the art and the artist.
As well as the free route map, there are postcards, catalogues and poster that you can buy. These are available in the churches and all money raised will be shared equally between the seven churches. Donations are are also very welcome to help maintain these historic buildings.

FEELING HUNGRY
Besides all the trail information on the route map, it also tells you the best places to stop for refreshments to make the most of your day. There are wonderful country pubs and restaurants along the route, and cafe's in Masham’s beautiful market square.

FUN FOR CHILDREN
There is a quiz for children. This is free, look out for them in the churches.

WELCOME
We hope to have stewards in at least some of the churches at busy times to welcome you and answer any questions.  These are our 'Welcomers' and (like us) they are all local volunteers .

We hope you have a fantastic day out and please share your comments in the books provided in the churches or by using our Facebook or Instagram pages.
